Taking your dog on a ferry
On ferries, conditions vary by company, vessel and route. Before booking, check which option that particular ship offers: a pet-friendly cabin, a kennel or a cage.
Baleària
- To travel with your dog you must book the space (kennel or pet cabin) and get the boarding pass.
- You need to bring a valid health record.
- When boarding and disembarking, dogs must wear a lead and a muzzle.
- Some ships offer cabins adapted for travelling with your pet. Each ship has its own rules and visiting times.
- Assistance dogs travel free and can access the lounges, but you must say so when booking.
Grupo Armas Trasmediterránea
Accepts pets, but the exact conditions depend on the ship and the route. Check them on their website when booking.
General tips
- Ask whether your dog will stay with you in a cabin or in a separate area, and whether you can visit during the crossing.
- Bring a lead, a muzzle, water and a blanket or their bed.
- Passengers with animals usually disembark last: allow for that extra time.
